Anse Courtois Bank
Anse Courtois Bank is the correspondent for the Port Louis regional hub and the banking platform for the group's Mauritius holding companies, which carry the African and Indian positions. The relationship began in 2023 with the hub. Anse Courtois holds the accounts of the nine platform vehicles, including IGUAKO Africa Holdings Ltd and IGUAKO Indian Ocean Investments Ltd, and settles the dividends and disposal proceeds that flow up from South Africa and India together with loan interest from the East African co-financings.
The relationship
Mauritius works as a holding platform because its banks can move capital in and out of Africa and India under treaty arrangements that are well understood. Anse Courtois documents each flow for the local exchange rules, settles in rupees, rand, shillings and US dollars, and runs the group's African payroll. Clients see African proceeds arrive in the Caribbean treasury within five business days of receipt.
