Capabilities

What we do.

Six disciplines, separate in execution and single in purpose. Each is expected to originate advantage the others can use.

01  /  Core Business

Private Equity

Acquiring, financing, restructuring and scaling private companies where IGUAKO believes it can create enterprise value that would not otherwise exist.

We take control positions and structured minority positions. The distinction we care about is not size but influence: whether we can change the operating trajectory of a business rather than simply finance it. Holding periods follow the asset, not a fund clock.

  • Control buyouts and founder recapitalisations
  • Structured minority and preferred positions
  • Carve-outs from complex or regulated parents
  • Operational restructuring and management build-out
  • Buy-and-build across fragmented specialist markets
  • Continuation and liquidity solutions

02  /  Core Business

Investment Banking

Advisory, capital raising, structured transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic financing and institutional deal execution.

The advisory practice exists partly to serve clients and partly to keep the institution close to transaction flow it would not otherwise see. Mandates in specialised sectors are accepted on the understanding that they are difficult; that is usually why they reach us.

  • Sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory
  • Private capital raising across the structure
  • Structured and asset-backed financing
  • Recapitalisations and balance-sheet restructuring
  • Fairness opinions and valuation work
  • Cross-border execution in regulated sectors

03  /  Core Business

Quantitative Strategies

Systematic investment strategies built around mathematics, market data, statistical modelling, proprietary information systems and disciplined risk management.

Strategies are specified in advance, tested against out-of-sample data and sized by explicit risk budget. Where the firm holds proprietary information from its operating exposures, that information is governed by the same controls as any other input and is never used where it would be improper to do so.

  • Systematic multi-asset and relative-value strategies
  • Signal research on proprietary and licensed datasets
  • Execution research and transaction-cost analysis
  • Explicit risk budgeting and drawdown control
  • Independent model validation
  • Portfolio construction and overlay management

04  /  Core Business

Information & Data

Investment in data infrastructure, analytics, intelligence systems and businesses where proprietary information can create durable economic advantage.

Information is treated as an asset class and as an operating discipline at the same time. The division buys and builds the infrastructure that makes allocation decisions elsewhere in the institution measurably better, and it is expected to stand on its own returns.

  • Data infrastructure and pipeline businesses
  • Analytics and intelligence platforms
  • Proprietary dataset acquisition and licensing
  • Applied research and internal tooling
  • Information governance and access control
  • Technology positions adjacent to owned data

05  /  Core Business

Commercial Finance

Capital solutions, corporate financing, treasury-related services and financial infrastructure for businesses and institutional clients.

Commercial finance is the shortest path between the institution and the working capital needs of the companies it already understands. Facilities are underwritten on the operating reality of the borrower rather than on a category.

  • Senior, unitranche and mezzanine facilities
  • Working capital and receivables financing
  • Asset-based and inventory-backed lending
  • Treasury and liquidity services
  • Trade and supply-chain finance
  • Bespoke structured facilities

Private Wealth & UHNW

Individualised investment management, capital preservation, portfolio construction, private-market access, and estate and liquidity coordination for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

Mandates are written individually. Clients of the division reach the institution's own origination, which is the reason the division exists and the reason it stays deliberately small.

  • Discretionary and advisory mandates
  • Capital preservation and drawdown planning
  • Access to proprietary private-market transactions
  • Concentrated-position and liquidity management
  • Estate, succession and cross-border coordination
  • Consolidated reporting across external managers

Discuss a mandate.

Enquiries are directed to the relevant division and answered by the people who would run the work.
