Johannesburg originates. Four people at Rivonia Chambers cover animal health, veterinary biologics and agri-science across southern Africa, hold the three South African portfolio positions and manage two family relationships. US$8 million of the client portfolio is attributed to the country. The office reports to Port Louis, where the positions are held.
A separate registered credit provider writes rand-denominated facilities for exporters, which keeps currency risk with the borrower rather than with the platform. Karoo Custodial Services holds the securities. Diligence on a biological position begins with the welfare standards the firm applies to every animal-health and aquaculture asset, and a position that cannot meet them is not underwritten at any price.
The 2030 phase of Programme Latitude is the region's phase and this office is its centre. It opens the Africa agri-science origination desk with a first-year target of three new positions, takes the office to twelve people across diligence, credit and coverage, and extends the coverage area into Namibia, Botswana and Zambia with a Cape Town desk for the Western Cape.
