Port of Spain

The Port of Spain desk introduces facilities; it does not book them. Nine facilities totalling US$19 million have been introduced since the desk opened in 2024, every one of them booked in Bridgetown and secured by assignments held through Gulf of Paria Security Trustee Ltd. Three people work from Savannah Chambers, two of them credit analysts.

Borrowers are the suppliers and service companies around the energy industry: marine logistics, inspection, fabrication and specialist chemicals. The desk visits every borrower before a facility is introduced and at least twice a year afterwards. It holds no client money, gives no advice, and carries no credit authority of its own.

Functions

  • Origination of energy-adjacent commercial finance facilities
  • Borrower diligence and site visits across the southern Caribbean
  • Security trustee administration through Gulf of Paria Security Trustee Ltd.
